Es muy fácil tener miedo al asomarnos al mundo desde un sitio muy alto y descubrir que apenas somos miniaturas con intenciones de gigantes para vivir un tiempo que es solo un rato en esta eternidad que nos rodea.

Es aún más fácil tener miedo mirando de cerca el proyecto de vida de cada persona tan vivo, interesante, complejo… el cual te genera la necesidad de vivir mil vidas al mismo tiempo siendo casi vertiginosa la idea de elegir y de ser consciente de que vida, vida, solo hay una.

Porque no tengo tiempo y quiero saberlo todo, no tengo tiempo y quiero vivir en todo el mundo, y relacionarme con todos esos individuos que son una parte fundamental de mi persona, que sin conocerlos se que son algo mío y al estar con ellos me completo, ya que efectivamente, soy un ser inacabado.

Quiero ser pintora, escritora, cantante, mujer de negocios, vivir del aire y de mis ideas, y de hacer realidad las ideas de otros… algo que solo es posible en mis complejos sueños o haciendo real algún instante, como este…

It’s very easy to be afraid of peek out at the world from a high place and discover that we are just thumbnails with intentions of giants to live a time which is only a while in this eternity that surrounds us.

It’s even easier to fear looking closely at the life project of each person so alive, interesting, complex… which generated you the need of living thousand lives at the same time being dizzying the idea of choose and be aware that life, life, there is only one.

Because I have no time and I want to know everything, I don’t have time and I want to live around the world, and relate me to all those people who are an essential part of my person, who without knowing them I know that they are something mine and to be with them complete me, indeed, I am an unfinished human being.

I want to be a painter, writer, singer, business woman, live because of the air and thanks to my ideas, and to realize the ideas of other people… something that is only possible in my complex dreams or making real some moment, like this one…

VISIT STUDIOS 2013

This weekend was the Visit Studios 2013 in Dublin, an event where most of the art studios in Dublin celebrate an open day. An interesting tour that was actually not very crowded even though it only happens once a year. We could get involved with the artists’ backstage, enjoying unfinished projects and trying to understand where artists get inspirations from or find out about their passions and choice of topic.

Pallas Project_ This studio has around 8 artists working in it. It’s a lovely place with colorful pictures over the walls.

La Catedral Studios_ It was the coolest studio of them all. It’s an unstructured building with at least 25 studios, some of them in the attic. It also counts with a stage theatre and cafeteria where they prepare a lot of events are held. The environment is a bit hippie. Here we have the pleasure to meet:

Damian O’Donohue, an illustrator designer who works on interactive tales, advertisements for different companies…
P J Lynch, a painter who is now working on an adventures tale and its illustrations.
Hugh Frazer, a painter whose pieces reminded me of Hopper’s technic.

Ormond Studio _ You’ll find this building beside the river so you can imagine how illuminated it is. The best studio has a huge window with an amazing view to the river. It has no more than 10 studios. Here we found several meaningful pieces but we couldn’t connect with any artist enough to introduce to you.

The Market Studio_ At first this building looked small but there are around 15 studios. People here develop different kind of fine arts. We met these artists:

Chris O’Rourke, a playwright.
Two Comedians who are playwrights. They also write scripts for TV Shows and songs.
A performance maker focused in performing emotions using different fabrics like sheets and tights as symbols.

Block T Studio_ This is one of the biggest studios in Dublin, with three floors with and almost 15 studios in each. It looks like a youth center in structure and organization. Here we met:

Eoin O’Dowd, sculpture and geometric collage maker.
Kerry O’Hare focused in color lights’ movement who shares studio with Sara Farrel, abstract painter who works with rocks/caves’ photographs.
Eleonore Nicolas, a French artist who loves painting sweets. She is the mind of the project “My Fair Mot”.
Damn Fine, a printer.
Lisa, researcher working on radio transmissions related with Marconi and Ireland.

I immersed myself in a world of daydreams with more than 50 main characters whose passions blinded them as me, who was only passing through. Without ambition, they chose specific subjects that subordinate their dedication and patience, thus making them experts in subjects without profession, in concepts without an owner.

Imagination and that personal satisfaction now shared with me, a voyeur who dreamed with them accidentally.

Impresionismo y Aire Libre

Museo Tyhssen, Madrid

Del 5 de Febrero al 12 de Mayo

En la última semana de su paso por Madrid asistí a una visita guiada por la temporal del Thyssen “Impresionismo y Aire Libre” y de este modo dejarme llevar por una analítica impresionista bastante original, puros comparativos cual experimento de “prueba y error”.

El recorrido de la exposición nos plantea similitudes constates durante el amplio periodo en que los artistas sintieron la necesidad de salir al exterior paleta en mano, ya desde que ni existiera aún la pintura en tubo, sino mezclas de pigmentos preparadas en el taller y transportadas en saquitos. De este modo, y estructurada por tipos de relieves, tenemos la oportunidad de juzgar el interés, técnica y calidad de artistas como Corot, Durand, Monet o Van Gogh.

Cielo_ John Constable en su ambicioso intento de atrapar a las nubes

Tormentas en el mar_ Courbet y el aún más difícil, pintar una lluvia que no cesa. Constante búsqueda de lo sublime.

Una exposición temática y de movimiento en la que podemos entrever del mismo modo la trayectoria que llevaron grandes artistas y muchos de sus discípulos. Especial conclusión en la biografía de Van Gogh de quién tenemos ejemplos pictóricos oscuros mientras vivió en Holanda y que en su posterior estancia en Francia, nos llena de color, pasando por en el sanatorio de Saint Rèmy, y finalizar así con esa técnica disparatada y armónica en color, lo que permite a muchos cuestionarse la naturaleza de su muerte y si tiene sentido situar sus pinturas más coherentes en el final de su lucha psicológica.

El placer interminable

Tenemos una relación muy estrecha, probablemente debido a todos los años que llevamos juntos… Desde pequeña es una parte más de mi vida. Sin embargo, nuestra historia avanza muy despacio porque no es el único. Reconozco que puede ser un poco egoísta porque no puedo vivir sin él ni sólo para él. Si así fuera, probablemente a día de doy le conocería a la perfección, sin malentendidos ni explicaciones.

Quería contar esta historia porque ayer fue un día muy importante y es que por primera vez, hicimos el amor. Fue un encuentro inesperado aunque no era el primero de este tipo. Surgió así, una de esas pequeñas casualidades que te vienen y aunque no sabes por qué sabes que son por algo.

Ocurrió durante mi segunda Guinness en mi primera noche en Dublín. Sus dedos se movían con decisión y sentimiento, envueltos en un tipo de trance que me tenía abrumada por completo. Fue de esas veces en las que haces el amor y parece que no vas a terminar nunca, que lo deseas y no al mismo tiempo. Placer interminable.

Cuando terminó supe que hablaría de un antes y un después en nuestra relación, ahora tan viva, quién sabe si eterna.
